Munching on popcorn will never be the same for me again.
The 411
Popcorn. It’s been around for longer than most people think it has — according to the Internets, it’s been around since we were still marking the calendar B.C. (yeah, it’s pretty old).
But, enough of the history lesson, that’s not what you came here for.
The Cretors family is synonymous with popcorn. Great Grandpa Cretors got his claim to popcorn fame by inventing the commercial popcorn machine over 130 years ago. Fast forward to now, and the Cretors family is known for much more than the popcorn machine.
These days, they are spreading the popcorn love by creating new and (very) delicious takes on popcorn.
Flavor in question? The signature Chicago Mix, which is made with cane sugar, brown rice syrup (a non-GMO alternative to corn syrup with a lower glycemic impact) and real butter is heated over a flame and then stirred slowly by hand to develop its rich complex flavor and crunch.
What does all of that fancy talk mean? The popped corn is coated with creamy caramel and yummy cheese — all in the same bag.
Now you’re probably thinking that popcorn like this is too good to be true. Well folks, it’s not.
G.H. Cretors is gluten free, doesn’t use ANY artificial flavors or colors, it’s kosher, and is made with the best ingredients out there.
Popcorn on the go
What I loved about this popcorn is that it is a snack that you can literally take ANYWHERE. Which is what I did. Took it on road trips, to the beach, to work, to visit family.
For me, it elevated what I thought about munching on popcorn. The sweet and savory bites of caramel and cheese where perfect because it was the perfect balance between the two.
Best part about it (apart from the taste, obvs) is that you’ll look super fancy eating it because it’s packaged in such a great looking bag.

Some additional info
In addition to the Chicago Mix, G.H. Cretors also carries Just the Cheese Corn and Just the Caramel Corn varieties.
Where can you find them? They are available at select natural food and mainstream grocery stores across the country or online at www.amazon.com and www.ghcretors.com.
I also happened to stumble upon them at Whole Foods (in Sarasota) under the “Gourmet Popcorn” section.

Final Thoughts
Hadn’t heard about them? No worries, because in the good words of my dear friend the Notorious BIG: and if you don’t know, now you know.
These are so good — seriously. My father who is a bit traditional about the food he eats was even converted to the Chicago Mix family (and if he can, so can you).
Follow them on Facebook and also show them some love on Twitter & Instagram (@GHCretors).
Disclaimer: Although all of the above thoughts were my own, my samples were provided by the good folks at G.H. Cretors.
Happy Eats,
