Food Review: Box of Chacos

We all love tacos. We all love Asian food. Fortunately for us, Box of Chacos is bring us the best of both worlds one mile at a time.

The 4-1-1:

Box of Chacos is a food truck whose mission is to serve South Florida with one-of-a-kind Asian-fusion tacos.

At the helm? Chef David Peck, whose culinary background includes working at Mark’s Las Olas, Nobu Dallas, Nove Italiano, Tap 42, and Morada Bay Beach Café (where he served as their executive chef).

You can expect to find menu regulars such as Pink Chaco (Seared Ahi Tuna, Sesame Salad, and Miso Special Sauce); Tio Tsao’s 5 Spice Pork (Tender Braised Pork, Cotija Cheese, Spicy Green Salad, Miso Special Sauce); and Shaolin Veg (Crispy Avocado, Veggie Quinoa, Miso Special Sauce).

You can also find some non-taco yummies like Bang Mai Buns, Kimchi Burger, The Quesadilla, and Tot Nachos.

What I Recommend:

I also had the opportunity to try the Tot Nachos which were “da bomb.” I’m not the biggest Tater Tot fan, but that yum-delicious sauce chef David adds to them takes them somewhere else.

Some Additional Info:

Box of Chacos also caters. The menu includes items like Lobster Tacos, Seared Cobia Tacos, and Asian Bacon Buns (to name a few).

They can also be found driving all around south Florida. Check out their schedule.

Final Thoughts:

Something I really liked about the chef is that you can always find him on the truck making sure that everything that goes out is up to par with his standards. Which I totally admire.

Go check them out . If you have any questions about anything, talk to Chef David. He’ll be more than happy to answer any of your questions.

Happy Eats!

xoxo,

M
